Sprudge and Stumptown Coffee Roasters ~ Arts District, Downtown Los Angeles

Coffee life in Los Angeles is just getting better and better. I had the opportunity to photograph Stumptown’s fantastic space at their new home in L.A., Yes, Stumptown Coffee Roasters from fabulous Portland, Oregon is now in Los Angeles. Gorgeous space, great coffee, great people, and very good pastries too. Stumptown’s pastries are by Chef Sharon Wang of Sugarbloom Bakery, Sharon is a former pastry chef from French Laundry, Bouchon, and Per Se.

Here are a few images and some outtakes from my assignment shoot for Sprudgeone the most popular coffee publications on the planet, this was my first time shooting for them, and I loved it. Please go check, and if you like coffee and coffee news, Sprudge is a must to follow. Visit Sprudge to read Julie Wolfson’s piece about the new Stumptown Coffee in L.A.

September 23, 2013 - 7:01 pm Puno - Wow, your pics are on another level. This makes me want to go get a Kimchi Spam Musubi Croissant right now!

September 23, 2013 - 7:14 pm admin - Thank you!

October 9, 2013 - 5:41 pm The Midnight Marauder - Unbelievable! And, here, I thought Roland L. from Yelp had done a great job covering this place with his photography. Silly me. Brewed coffee on tap? Wow. Thanks for all the extra little details you always showcase with your picture taking. That macro shot you took of the espresso tamper is killer.

October 9, 2013 - 6:08 pm admin - Thank you so much Harvey! I love to shoot details, and many times I forget to shoot wide angle to show the space, that is ok with my personal work, but when on assignment that can get me in trouble.:) When you go to Stumptown try to meet Frank Valerio, awesome barista and a very good person. That cold brew on tap is quite good.

October 10, 2013 - 8:51 am The Midnight Marauder - You're welcome! Details are the best. Don't shoot too many though; stay out of trouble! Sure will. Thanks for the heads up. I'm planning on coming here next week, hopefully.
