Bru Coffee Bar ~ Los Feliz, California

Once again I had the extraordinary opportunity to photograph a great coffee bar, this time it was Bru Coffee Bar in Los Feliz. A beautiful coffee bar with many details, great architectural design, and owned by two amazing and beautiful ladies.

As always, there was no staging, I was there just capturing real life in a beautiful, busy and quite comfortable coffee bar.

Bru Coffee Bar serves Ritual Coffee, a top coffee roaster from San Francisco.

Bru is truly a great shop, serving a great coffee, a gorgeous red La Marzocco, beautiful space and friendly baristas. Bru is located and fitting perfectly in the great city of Los Feliz, an area that is very diverse and it has a great feel of community.

I truly enjoyed this photo assignment, working for Vida and Sharleen was a great pleasure.

November 10, 2011 - 6:36 pm Kate - Wow--I'm so glad I randomly found you. I was looking for reviews of Bru and came across your blog. What beautiful photos! I've been having a bit of a more-hate-than-love Love/Hate relationship with Los Feliz (and Los Angeles) lately, but these pictures are making me fall in love again. I really love how you were able to capture the shiny glaze on those three coffee cups (top right of the second section). You really have a knack bringing out the beauty in ordinary things.

To be honest I did have the same relationship with L.A. up until a few years ago when I decided to start exploring the city with my camera, and totally fell in love with Los Angeles. For example I stayed away from Downtown for perhaps 20 years, and now I can't stay away from it. Thanks again, ~a.
